Eons of peace followed, until the Norwald homeland was wiped out by an unknown calamity in a single day. Most of the Norlords in Loross returned to their land across the sea and were never heard from again, but many stayed and formed kingdoms along the western coast.
In the great central region of the continent, two primitive tribes of men -the Dregloth and the Sheaim- simultaneously acquired immense, dark knowledge, and the two evil empires rose up quickly.
The Dregloth and their Legion of Bone, an army of seven hundred necromancers, enslaved the western coasts and all the land west of the Towers of Dawn, while the demon-summoners of the Sheaim conquered the ancient lands of Teng and Maru-Qat to the east.
